GOOD GIRL was a really cute, really entertaining read that I devoured in one sitting. I got completely lost in this story and found myself not wanting it to end. There hasn’t been a Lauren Layne book I’ve read that I didn’t love, granted I’ve only read her Redemption series and Blurred Lines, but this book is probably my favorite by her thus far. With her interesting characters, witty dialogue, and wickedly hot scenes, Ms. Layne has recently become one of my favorite romance authors out there. GOOD GIRL is a steamy enemies-to-lovers romance about finding love in an unexpected place. Filled with sexual tension, humor, and sizzling romance, this story is perfect for fans of the New Adult genre.
I fell in love with Noah and Jenny! And the dogs! The dogs might’ve been my favorite part, though. 🙂 Noah and Jenny’s relationship was perfectly paced and believable. First we have Jenny. She’s sweet, sassy, and very forgiving. Then there’s Noah. Noah is a complicated man who comes off as a brooding asshole the majority of the time, but hey, you gotta love him anyway. When they first met, they instantly disliked each other, but of course they couldn’t deny their attraction. Their banter was a lot of fun to watch because you know despite the insults they throw at each other, they are still lusting over the other sooo hard. Before I read this book I noticed a lot of reviewers bashing Noah; calling him an unforgivable asshole, which, unbeknownst to them, made me THAT much more excited to read this book. Yes, I’m one of those. One of those that LOVES jerky asshole heroes and gives no fuck about it *shrugs*. Probably because it’s so much fun watching them fall in love when you know they don’t want to, but yet they can’t stop. Or maybe it’s how they act like they don’t want the heroine only makes me want them even more! Anywayyy, back to Noah. Yes, he was an asshole, but at least we got to read his POV see what was going on inside his head. We saw that he struggled with his feelings for Jenny. He wanted her, yet he wanted to distance himself from her.
GOOD GIRL is the perfect summer read. I would recommend it to any romance fan looking for fun, cute, and sizzling story. I know you will fall in love with Noah and Jenny’s story like I did! I’m just crossing my fingers that there’s another book in the Love Unexpectedly series!
