ARC Review: The Matchmaker’s Replacement by Rachel Van Dyken

Wingman Inc. Book 2

By Rachel Van Dyken

Wingman rule number two: never reveal how much you want them.

Lex hates Gabi. Gabi hates Lex. But, hey, at least the hate is mutual, right? All Lex has to do is survive the next few weeks training Gabi in all the ways of Wingmen Inc. and then he can be done with her. But now that they have to work together, the sexual tension and fighting is off the charts. He isn’t sure if he wants to strangle her or throw her against the nearest sturdy table and have his way with her.

But Gabi has a secret, something she’s keeping from not just her best friend but her nemesis too. Lines are blurred as Lex becomes less the villain she’s always painted him to be…and starts turning into something more. Gabi has always hated the way she’s been just a little bit attracted to him—no computer-science major should have that nice of a body or look that good in glasses—but “Lex Luthor” is an evil womanizer. He’s dangerous. Gabi should stay far, far away.

Then again, she’s always wanted a little danger.

Gahhh! LEX!!! The Matchmaker’s Replacement was everything I wanted and MORE. Lex and Gabi kept me on my toes and I loved every second of it! Their hilarious banter made for some spectacular foreplay 😉

As much as I ADORED Ian and Blake’s story, I knew Lex and Gabi’s would be my favorite because there’s nothing I love more than a love/hate relationship. There’s literally nothing I didn’t like about this book. Lex is exactly the type of hero I crave in a romance novel. He’s the ultimate manwhore, incredibly good-looking, witty, and not to mention a freaking GENIUS. That’s right ladies… Our Lex is a HOT NERD *sigh*. After witnessing Lex’s manwhoring ways in The Matchmaker’s Playbook, I KNEW I wanted Gabi to bring that boy to his knees.

I just loved Gabi! That girl had to deal with so much, but she was such a fighter. Her sassiness towards Lex made me smile. She’s definitely the only one that can keep up with our Lex Luthor. 😉 Also, the way he cared for her was friggin adorable and made me giggle! I fell for this man HARD. I actually think Lex has went down as my favorite RVD hero to date!

Rachel Van Dyken is undeniably one of my favorite authors. I adore her witty writing style and laugh-out-loud dialogue. The humor, the banter, the characters, everything about The Matchmaker’s Replacement is perfectly done.
