the argument teaser 3

From the New York Times Bestseller Pepper Winters comes a snarky standalone full of romance.

They say the key to a good relationship is one with no drama.

They say you’re not trying hard enough or married the wrong person if you fight.

Sorry, but I call bulls***.

I’ve had plenty of relationships: some sweet, some happy, most an utter failure.

Until I met Harriet.

Our first conversation was an argument.

Our second conversation was an argument.

Our entire connection was based on…yep, an argument.

We tore up the rules of chance encounters and polite first meeting etiquette. And after the week I’d had, I was ready for a punch-up.

Hell, I craved one.

And Harriet was there to antagonise me.

The first time we met, we spent every hour from dusk to dawn, arguing.

And when the sun rose, neither of us wanted to stop.

Because there was something so refreshing about being honest. Saying exactly what you thought. Picking faults just because you itched to fight.

It was only supposed to be one night. A night where the town was our battlefield, the clubs a microphone to our bickering, and the stars a listener to our squabbles.

Only…I wasn’t ready to say goodbye.

You see, arguing turned out to be the best damn thing I’d ever experienced.

So, instead of agreeing to the terms we’d set, I revoked them. I went home with her. I refused to leave. And our argument turned into something so much more than a random quarrel.

It turned into war and our love wasn’t sweet…it was hostile.

Book Review: Falling Away by Penelope Douglas

Jaxon is the guy she’s supposed to avoid.

K.C. is the girl he won’t let get away….

K.C. Carter has always followed the rules—until this year, when a mistake leaves her the talk of her college campus and her carefully arranged life comes crashing to a halt. Now she’s stuck in her small hometown for the summer to complete her court-ordered community service, and to make matters worse, trouble is living right next door.

Jaxon Trent is the worst kind of temptation and exactly what K.C. was supposed to stay away from in high school. But he never forgot her. She was the one girl who wouldn’t give him the time of day and the only one to ever say no. Fate has brought K.C. back into his life—except what he thought was a great twist of luck turns out to be too close for comfort. As the bond between them grows, he discovers that convincing K.C. to get out from her mother’s shadow is hard, but revealing the darkest parts of his soul is nearly impossible.…

*Synopsis from

So, yeah, I actually read this book a looong time ago and had my review posted on Goodreads, so I thought I’d go ahead and put it on here…

5 ‘Only Ever You’ Stars!

Penelope does it again!

This book… THIS. BOOK. Everything about this book was SO incredibly PERFECT. I knew, I just knew after reading the first few pages that it was going to be something very special… and I was right. Boy, was I right! I laughed, I cried (a lot), I swooned, I was blushing like nobody’s business! The sexual chemistry was off the charts HOTT!

The writing was absolutely phenomenal. Pen draws you in and she will not let go until you have felt every emotion. I slowly read every single word because I did not want to miss a thing. Then… I was so sad when it ended, I had to pick it up and read it all over again. I just know I will be suffering from a major book hangover for a while.

Unlike some people, I actually did like K.C. in Bully, but after reading Falling Away, I do not know how someone can NOT love her. That being said, I am SO happy Pen did not end up choosing a different girl for Jax. They are undoubtedly fantastic together, not to mention scorching hot! My heart broke so many times for these two characters. They have both been through so much and I can understand why they made some of the decisions they did. As for Jax, move over Jared and Madoc! You ladies will fall in love with his dirty-talking self. I know I did!

It was a lot of fun to get a peek at our other favorite couples. I could never get tired of hearing about Jared, Tate, Madoc and Fallon. Madoc never fails to make me laugh…and he will forever be a favorite character of mine. I just love that guy!

You guys seriously do not want to miss out on this one. Falling Away is without doubt one of the best in the Fall Away series. This masterpiece deserves way more than 5 stars!!

Book Review: RIGHT by Jana Aston

AHHHH, I just love this cover. I mean that jawline... YUM.

My childhood was perfect.
I’ve led a charmed life, and I’m not going to blow it now
by picking the wrong guy.

I’ve got my sights set on my brother’s best friend.
He’s known my family for years. He’s reliable and kind and handsome.

Sure, he’s been avoiding me since I was six.
I’m a bit aggressive for him, maybe.

But he’s the one… right?

5 ‘Boots’ stars!

I never thought I’d love this book as much as I loved Wrong… but boy, was I WRONG… I loved it more! Jana Aston delivers an entertaining read that you surely won’t want to put down. Right is sweet, sexy, and oh sooo funny, you’ll be smiling and swooning the entire time!

Everly, Everly, Everly. What a hoot!! That girl is definitely somethin’ else. She’s sassy and completely unpredictable, you never know what she’s going to say or do next! I can honestly say I’ve never come across a heroine like her. If you’ve read Wrong then you should remember her. She’s the girl who has been in love with her brother’s best friend, Finn, ever since she was six. She was so convinced that he was the one for her that she’d do anything to make him fall for her. And I mean ANYTHING! She did do some pretty crazy things. Her stalkerish tendencies had me laughing my ass off! She was pretty ballsy in her attempts and I do admire her for that. Finn, on the other hand, didn’t appreciate her over-the-top gestures.

Enter Sawyer *insert swoon*. He’s confident, gorgeous, rich, and just happens to be Finn’s older brother. He wants Everly as soon as he meets her and isn’t afraid to let her know. Despite what Everly might think, it’s obvious to him that his brother isn’t the man that she needs. I absolutely loooved their first meeting. Sawyer basically straight up tells Everly that they are a for sure thing. There’s nothing better than a swoony alpha male that knows what he wants and goes for it. Determined to show her that he is the Right man for her, Sawyer completely turns Everly’s world upside down as the “chaser” becomes the “chasee”.

Sawyer is actually the perfect match for Everly. Everly’s forward nature scares most people away, but not Sawyer. It was like he looked forward to what she would do next. I liked that he loved Everly for who she was and didn’t try to change her or hold her back. He happily welcomed her quirky ways and even gave her a taste of her own medicine by giving it right back to her. He’s literally the male equivalent of Everly.

I adored this book so much! If you love a story with humor, wit, and a steamy romance, then this is the book for you. If you’re like me and love a dirty talking alpha and a sassy heroine, then this is the book for you. I look forward to see what Jana has in store for us next!

Book Review: The Matchmaker’s Playbook by Rachel Van Dyken

*Synopsis from

5+ ‘Wingmen’ STARS!

OMG!!! GUYS… I. Am. In. Love. I seriously loved every second of this book!! It was such a f*cking fun, refreshing, and hilarious read! The Matchmaker’s Playbook is the perfect romantic comedy. I found myself giggling and swooning throughout the entire book. I have to say; I’m usually not a fan of male only POV (mainly because I like my men to remain mysterious) but OMG, being inside Ian’s head was seriously entertaining as hell. He was so f*cking hilarious and such a cocky douche, but you couldn’t help but love him anyway.

Ian was a grade-A jackass when we met him in the first chapter. Some of the things that were going through his head deserved a few punts in the nuts, but hey, I loved him anyway. Ian, along with his partner in crime, Lex, are two huge mansluts that run Wingmen Inc., a dating service that helps lonely, shy, and insecure women land the man of their dreams. There are rules that must be followed, though. You never mix business with pleasure, and you never, ever fall in love with a client.

Enter Blake Olsen, a majorly inexperienced tomboy and the worse case that Ian Hunter has ever seen. She despises Ian when they first meet, and rightfully so. They are the complete opposites in every way. Ian found her to be completely hopeless and just couldn’t look past the hideous adidas flip-flops and baggy boy clothes.

Blake has been trying to catch the attention of her long time friend, David, for a long time. David has never looked at Blake as anything other than a friend, so she decides to enlist the help of the wingmen. Unbeknownst to her, it would bring her back face to face with the player himself, Ian Hunter.

Ian and Blake’s relationship progressed smoothly. As they spent more and more time together, they slowly became friends and eventually developed feelings for one another. Ian began to see Blake in a new light. He began dreading having to send Blake off with David when he just wanted to keep her for himself. Ian being Ian, didn’t understand why he felt the way he did, the feeling was not something he was used to. He found himself wanting to break every single one of his rules.

I’ve read and loved many books by Rachel Van Dyken, but I have to say this is one of my favorites that she’s written so far. The Matchmaker’s Playbook is an utterly addicting read that captivated me from the beginning. Full of humor, sexiness, and wit, you can’t help but put it down until the very last page. As much as I adore Ian and Blake’s story, I have a feeling that the best is yet to come with Lex and Gabi. I’m SO excited to find out how they end up between the sheets. 😉

“What about you, Everly?”

“What about me what?” I ask, confused.

“Are you seeing anyone?” He looks over at me. “At school?”

Not successfully, I think to myself. “No, not right now. I’m kinda taking a break this semester.”

“Taking a break,” Eric repeats, glancing over at me. “That’s not like you. At all.”

I shrug. “It’s exhausting.”

“What’s exhausting?” he asks, frowning.

“Um—” Breaking and entering, I think. But I can’t tell him that. “You know, the whole ‘does he like me’ thing.”

“If you have to wonder if a guy likes you, then he’s not the right guy for you, Everly.”

“Maybe it’s more complicated than that.”

“It’s never more complicated than that.”

Q: Is this really a YA?

We recommend this for young adult readers, age 17 and up. We think it’s a book that will appeal to older teens and those adults who are in touch with their inner teen, like us.

Q: Is there a cliffhanger? I’ve heard there’s an awful cliffhanger! Why’d you write a cliffhanger?

We promise that we didn’t set out to write a cliffhanger, but Paper Princess does end in one. The good news is that the next book will be released July 25, 2016.

*Synopsis from*

HOLY. SHIT. GUYS. I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOW. Top read of 2016 for sure!

This book contains literally everything I love to read about. Sexy assholes? Check! Love-hate relationship? Check! Full of drama and angst? Check! I mean I knew I had to read this book after the authors described it as ‘a love child of Cruel Intentions and Gossip Girl,’ which are actually two of my favorite things. Did I mention the sexy major asshole brothers? Because it’s no joke. These guys were actually real asshole jerks and I’m not afraid to admit I loved every second of it. Especially Reed Royal, who is one mega asshole extraordinaire and also the leader. I absolutely love reading about a guy that starts off literally hating the heroine when they first meet. And when he has qualities that seem might unredeemable, yet we still know he’s going to end up falling with love with her in the end. It’s just so much fun to watch it all fall together.

Those Royal brothers could be downright brutal, but Ella was one tough heroine. I loved how she would give it right back to the boys. She wasn’t afraid of them, nor did she ever back down from them. She was completely bad ass! Ella never gave up on the brothers; especially Reed. She knew they had a strong connection and that he felt the same no matter what he did.

Paper Princess is considered a YA novel, mainly because the heroine is 17 and the setting is in high school, but it does cross into NA territory because of certain situations and scenarios. The sexual tension between Reed and Ella radiated off the pages. I mean DAMN. Even when they seem like they hate each other, you can still feel the heat between the two of them.

That ending was definitely a jaw dropping moment. I mean WHAT WAS THAT!? And WHY!? I didn’t know what to do with myself after finishing this book. I have had such a major book hangover and I STILL haven’t found another book to recover from it! This book is ridiculously amazing, guys! A definite MUST READ. All I know is I will be stalking the genius authors until I can get my hands on the next book!
